Need a Trade License?

All trade licenses are available as well as certifications, but it is important that for any license applicant they possess at least 2-3 years professional experience. With a builders license you need to have at least a Cert IV in Building and Construction plus one other trade license like Carpentry, Tiling, etc.

Certificates / licenses that may be required in the building industry:

  • Certificate in Bricklaying / Block laying
  • Certificate in Carpentry
  • Certificate in Flooring Technology
  • Certificate in Building & Construction (Building)
  • Certificate in Tiling
  • Certificate in Painting
  • Certificate in Fencing
  • Certificate in Plastering
  • Certificate IV in Building & Construction (Plumbing)
  • Certificate in Electrical
  • Handyman license
  • Builder’s license

It is for anyone operating in the trade that requires the qualification license.

This includes trades such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, HVAC, and many more. The license ensures that the person or business has met certain qualifications and standards set by the regulatory body for that particular trade.

The laws will change within the next few years and anyone working in the building or maintenance industry will require a license as evidence they maintain standards under this proper procedure.

If you’re considering a career in construction or maintenance, you should be aware of upcoming changes to licensure requirements. In the next few years, new legislation will go into effect that will require all tradespeople working in the industry to obtain a license as confirmation that they meet the required standards and protocols.

This change is being introduced to ensure that all building and maintenance work is carried out to the highest standards of quality and safety. Holding a license will show that a tradesperson has the required skills and knowledge to perform their job competently and safely, and will help to build trust between clients and tradespeople.

At Jim’s Building and Maintenance, we understand the importance of licensing and ensure that all of our tradespeople hold the necessary licenses and qualifications. We take pride in delivering high-quality building and maintenance services to our clients and will continue to do so under the new licensing laws.

It is advisable to research and consult with legal professionals or financial advisors to understand any specific licensing or registration requirements that may apply in your location.
